Each Meshima Reishi UE-1® capsule contains concentrated Meshima (50%), Red Reishi (30%) and Agaricus (20%) essence extracted from mature, superior-grade wild Meshima, cultivated Red Reishi and Agaricus mushrooms respectively. By using the most advanced hot water extraction method, it yields very fine essence powder that contains high level of active ingredients and is easily absorbed by the human body when consumed in this state.

Studies have found that Reishi can improve the efficacy of the immune system by stimulating the production of specialized cells that protect the body. It is also known for promoting a healthy digestive system and for its antioxidant effects within the body.
Meshima is proven to be the most potent medicinal mushroom in anti-abnormal cells properties. In 1968 it was taken for clinical studies by Japanese National Cancer Center Research Institute, the results amazed the scientists that Meshima had the highest anti-abnormal cells rate at 96.7% among all tested mushrooms.
The hot water extraction method
The hot water extraction method involves taking the best Meshima (Phellinus linteus), Red Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) and Agaricus from the harvest and drying them under hot temperatures, to remove all the moisture in the mushrooms. The fruit bodies are then ground into powder and boiled in water to extract the essence juice. The juice will be boiled at least three times and then vacuum-dried to obtain the pure Meshima and Red Reishi essence powder. The end product, Meshima Reishi UE-1® , is easily absorbed by the human body when consumed in this state. In contrast, the majority of Reishi products in the marketplace are made with pulverised or unrefined mushrooms from immature and inferior grade Reishi, greatly limiting their absorption capabilities.

Water-soluble polysaccharides are the most active element found in Meshima, Red Reishi and Agaricus that have anti-abnormal cells and immuno-boosting effects. The highest concentration and various types of polysaccharides found in Meshima make it a more potent mushroom than others such as Reishi and YunZhi. Another major active ingredient are triterpenoids, which help alleviate common allergies by inhibiting histamine release, preventing abnormal blood clots, improving blood circulation, oxygen utilization and liver functions.
2. Are there any side-effects?

After the spores have cracked, the oil that comes out had been known to oxidize, and the oxidation of the reishi oil was shown to create an unpleasant odour and become harmful to human cells. Therefore, the health benefits and safety of consuming reishi spores oil have yet to be tested and verified by scientific research and clinical studies.
Reishi mycelium is of a mass of branching, thread-like hyphae grow under the ground. Studies have confirmed that the mycelium does not contain triterpenoid constituents (which are only found in fruiting body), so its efficacy is not comprable to that of Reishi's fruiting body.
Compared to Reishi spores and mycelium, the active ingreients profile of reishi's fruiting body is more complte. The benefits of reishi’s fruiting body have been proven to work for over thousands of years and its miraculous health-enhancing properties have been well documented by Oriental cultures for centuries.
